A Forensic & Clinical Psychology Team Dedicated to Evidence-Based Care

Dr. Carla Dassinger is a licensed clinical psychologist with clinical training in custodial settings in both Canada and the United States. She was employed by the Correctional Service of Canada for nearly 10 years and resigned as acting chief of mental health for a multi-level institution before going into private practice. Dr. Dassinger provides treatment to those who have committed sexually motivated offences through the Forensic Psychiatric Services Commission in British Columbia. She has both researched and worked clinically in the field of forensics since 2004, while publishing and presenting in the field of risk assessment and childhood delinquency and aggression during this period. She provides training nationally in both the areas of risk management and interviewing trauma survivors.

Dr. Carla Dassinger is experienced in providing psychological risk assessments, specialized sex offender assessments, and pre-trial assessments in the context of criminal and civil proceedings, parole board hearings, and child protection cases. She provides individual and group treatment with a special focus on sexual offending. Dr. Dassinger holds a special interest in the assessment and treatment of post-traumatic stress in both first responders and the general public.
